![]() ![]() That's a lot of devs that are struggling, and last year Xbox acquired Bethesda and all their studios.and they're about to acquire Activision Blizzard and all of theirs on top of it. Rare has been having issues with Everwild, rebooting the game mid-development already and pushing back release dates. The Initiative has been having all kinds of problems with Perfect Dark, from high turnover to delayed projects to outside help being brought in. I don't get what's going on with project management. And even if you’re not a GP person, I’m sure there’s something out there for you as well. So be prepared for those no matter how delayed the game is.Īs for gamepass, I do hope they have something up their sleeve as I’m sure we all do, but I trust that if they don’t feel their holiday releases are good enough, they’ll make a deal with 3rd parties to bring games to GP on day 1. And let’s not forget, every single RPG to come out in the last 20 years always has bugs. So unless you want games with worse graphics, animations, and quests, let them bake this in the oven a little longer. Plus they are trying to meet consumers expectations which is an impossible task these days. ![]() And top notch developers are far and few between. Even before covid causing delays, games are significantly harder and more complex to make, especially RPG games. I definitely agree with everyone’s point about not revealing dates years in advance, but people really need to start tempering their expectations about video game releases. Let's just hope that they release Hellblade 2, the new Forza and Gears 6 during the remaining months of this year. That way devoids us of disappointment such as this. ![]() Tell us when the game is coming out at the same moment that it goes gold. I would much prefer that rather than delay a game, just don't announce an unrealistic release date in the first place. I totally get that it won't be long until we will have regular first party releases, but the wait is somewhat painful, and delays like this don't help. Now it seems as if we have nothing in the way of products from our own studios. That said, Starfield in particular was basically the only AAA first party studio release already announced as releasing for the Xbox in 2022. The delay was an open secret, but it hurts just the same. Arkane Studios' next thing is supposed to be a first-person action-adventure with vampires for enemies, an open world to explore and four-player co-op multiplayer. The project was announced in June last year with a date of "summer 2022", but even with the first ravages of the heat among us and the beach on the horizon, the only thing we knew about it comes from a CGI trailer that barely allows us to glimpse anything. Redfall, the new game from the creators of Dishonored, is another story. Both kept constant statements during their communication about the great progress the game was making and the confidence they had in it arriving on time. Scheduled for November 11, 2022, we have heard more than a few times Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, and Todd Howard, his counterpart at Bethesda, mention that Starfield was not going to be delayed. pqDtx26Uu6- Bethesda Starfield's failed promise
